Lovely Christmas Weekend

Just to warn everyone, as per usual with me, this is a very long post with many pictures, stories and videos. I guess that goes along with the holiday season that there are many noteworthy events and with my two adorable children I really can't help myself.
Enjoy...hopefully! The Wednesday before Christmas the kids and I went over to our friends' home to play in the snow. This is the first time Morgan has really played in the snow when he knew what was going on. He was very excited and didn't mind getting bundled up and wearing gloves. That's when you know he's excited!

He loved every minute of it.

Abby took a few minutes to warm up to the whole experience.

Who says you can't play on a playground during the winter?!

Morgan's masterpiece.

Abby's cute little snow angel.

My creation. It really helps give the right effect to the wings when you can get your hands above your head!

Building a pile of snow to jump in.

Abby needed a little help from mommy, Becky, to jump in the first time.

Luckily, Morgan needed no help.

All rosy cheeked and ready for some hot chocolate. Another first for Morgan who has never even wanted regular chocolate milk. He seemed to enjoy it. Becky also made us some delicious chili, which Morgan also enjoyed the beans, meat and cheese out of. Thank you for the wonderful day of snowy fun guys!

Our good friend Jesse lent us the snow gear to play at Abby's house. We had size 2T snow pants from last year that I wasn't sure would fit but luckily they are snug but will seem to work out for this winter. I thought he looked like an elf with his green shirt and socks.
You know a the famous crotch grabbing elf...a side effect of potty training.

Helping Daddy eat his advent chocolate.

Pepper is getting dangerously close to having enough hair for a bow.
As you can tell, I can hardly wait!

On Thursday night we went over to Jesse and James' house for a Christmas Eve party.
The children got dressed up to act out the nativity for us. Morgan donned a cape to play one of the Wise Men and immediately announced that he was Batman. So Batman brought a gift to the baby Jesus. If that helped him participate then I was all for it.

Nemo, aka Julia, was also there.

Baby Benjamin got to be our baby Jesus. He did a great job!
Such acting skills!

Thank you everyone for a fabulous Christmas Eve with all the festivities, great friends and yummy food!

As per my family traditions (much to Cody's annoyance) the children get to open one present on Christmas Eve. It is usually a pair of new pajamas and a book.
Cody and I get to pick out the pajamas and books for all of my nieces and nephews on my side of the family and I have to admit it is one of my very favorite parts of the holiday season!
This year my mom bought a Twas the Night Before Christmas book that let you record your voice reading the story. Morgan LOVED that he got to listen to Gramma Goodier read him a story that he already loves. He gets the biggest grin on his face every time he listens to it.
Thank you mom.
Such a great, happy time of anticipation!
Here's a video of Morgan waking up on Christmas morning. He was a little confused because he was looking for Santa himself to be there not just looking for what was left behind by Santa.

A sleepy groggy Morgan getting ready to jump into his Christmas.
Morgan showing off his violin skills.

Morgan loves his accordion and kept running around the house singing a song about his "concertina." I truly have no idea where he learned this word but leave it up to my kid to know the correct term for his musical toy.
Here's a video of his musical skills:

Pepper slept through most of our Christmas morning but woke up for the final part of present opening. She was a little slow to get the presents open so Morgan was more than happy to help her out.
Here's a video of Pepper on Christmas morning:
Thanks to Grandma Adams, Pepper has her very first doll.
I'm very glad it is a Cabbage Patch. I still have a soft spot in my heart for Xavier!

My kids have the best lazy eye pictures!

Christmas aftermath.

My sister, Jill, made the kids these cute little tote bags. Morgan's has a guitar patch on the front of it and Pepper's has the cutest little butterfly fabric. While we were getting ready to leave for Khan's house after we had breakfast, Morgan stuffed all his new treasures into the bag. His stamp of approval.

After presents and breakfast, we packed up the car and headed to Khan's house for a few days of Christmas, family fun. William gave Morgan a gun (not the one in the picture) and these two had a blast chasing each other around the rest of the time we were there. There other favorite past time was hide-and-go-seek. Morgan was so excited to get to "William's House" and apparently William felt the same way. Joanna said on Christmas Eve she was asking William who was coming that night and he replied, "Morgan!" Then she reminded him Santa was also coming. Santa Schmanta!

Cody reading the A Pirates Night Before Christmas to the boys. I reccomend this book to anyone with little boys or a great love for pirates. Really cute.

Pepper has finally learned to crawl forward and pull herself up on things.
She is a very happy girl...us not so much...just kidding...maybe. Teehee.

On Saturday we went to the Natural History Museum to see their holiday train display. Morgan loved all the toy trains and even the ones that were just sitting in the glass cases. They also had a big train for the kids to ride and a table set up for the kids to play on. Once Morgan spotted that he had no interest in anything else. And once he got his little hands on the one Thomas they had, he was in little boy heaven.

I was worried what would happen when it was time to leave and see some more of the museum but I was so proud of my little man. I gave him a 15 minute warning and kept reminding him as time was getting closer and when it came time to leave he told Thomas good-bye and thanked him for playing. I love my little man!
William, Morgan and Kegan enjoying the museum.
Thank you again to Khan, Joanna and family for a wonderful Christmas weekend. We are so grateful to have them live so close that even when time and money is tight we can pop over for some family time. We love you guys!

After three crazy days of traveling, tons of fun and no naps Morgan completely crashed on the couch before dinner time. He is bottomless because we are still working on some poop issues and this seems to work the best.

The poor guy was just drained and had a bit of a fever. We finally got some food and medicine in him. Gave him a bath and put him in bed. Today we've just been vegging at home and he seems to be doing better. What a trooper!

We finally got a little video of Pepper's new crawling skills:
We hope you all had a wonderful, safe and festive Christmas holiday.
Family, friends, faith and food. What more could a person want?!

Merry Christmas Sunday

Today we all got dolled up for Christmas Sunday and decided to take advantage of the festiveness with some family photos.

Gramma Goodier sent the outfits for Morgan and Pepper to wear to church.
Pepper's "Mrs. Clause" outfit was a huge hit with everyone.
Pepper especially loved trying to pull all the fluff off her sleeves.
Thank you Gramma for the wonderful clothes. Morgan really needed some Sunday outfits so this is a big help and very cute. Thank you.

I just love these handsome fellas!

Last night we opened the special Sunday outfits. This was Pepper's first present unwrapping. She would have been there all night because all she wanted to do was tear off small pieces and then tear them into even smaller pieces. Lovely!

It is almost impossible to get this kid looking at the camera with a normal face.
Oh well, I kind of like his funny faces too!

Here are the kids sporting their outfits before church, since I had no guarantee they would make it till the end of church when Daddy would be with us.

We think Pepper is teething again. She has a runny nose and is super grumpy.
She is also drooling like a leaky faucet.
Once again...lovely.
Her blotchy face was from crying ALL morning before church.
My favorite.
Sad little elf.

Last week for playgroup we met at the church and took some pictures of the kids to print out and make ornaments with. This is the face I got out of Morgan that will now be sitting on my tree forever.
Yep, you guessed it...lovely!

It has been snowing on and off the last few days. Morgan is really excited about it. Unfortunately, we don't have snow gear for him yet but I did remember that I have Jack the Pumpkin King scarf and gloves. Morgan loved them since one of his favorite movies now is The Nightmare Before Christmas. A child after my heart!

Saturday morning we went to the mall with our friends Becky, Jerry, Abby and baby Ben to see Santa. Morgan was excited to see Santa and tell him he what he wanted for Christmas. I was excited to go since this is Pepper's first Christmas and picture with Santa. For a few days I had been prepping Morgan about talking to Santa. Here's how those conversations would go:
Mommy: Morgan what are you going to ask Santa for Christmas?
Morgan: A caterpillar.
Mommy: Not a bike?
Morgan: Nope. A caterpillar.
the next day
Mommy: What are you going to ask Santa for Christmas?
Morgan: A worm.
Mommy: Are you sure you don't want to ask him for a bike?
Morgan: Nope. A worm.
We stopped by this tree farm before heading to the mall and they were giving out these little gummi worm toys. I was excited to give one to Morgan since that morning he had said that is what he wanted to ask Santa for. I jumped back into the car and showed Morgan the worm. He started screaming, "No, I want a bike. I want Santa to bring me a bike!" I finally convinced him that accepting the worm did not mean Santa was off the hook and that he would still get a bike for Christmas.
Kids are just too funny and unpredictable. You never know what they are going to say next!
(I'll post the picture once our scanner stops acting up)
After we saw Santa, Abby and Morgan got to ride a big train along with Becky.
The promise of that train is the only way we got Morgan to go talk to Santa and pose for the picture. I love being able to bribe your children! Works every time...well, almost every time.

Morgan loves any accessories.
Such a girl and a teething baby.

Here's a video of the train ride. Probably not very exciting for anyone except grandmas.

Here is a cute smile from Abby's baby brother Benjamin.
I love when babies learn to smile.
It seems like they finally come to life and start to become real little people.
