Christmas Trip to Alabama

The night before our big holiday trip to Kim's house in Alabama, Morgan started throwing up and continued to do so ALL. NIGHT. LONG. There was no fever and no other symptoms. No one else seemed to have any issues and we already had the van packed and ready to go. About 2 in the morning Cody and I decided to delay our plans to leave and see how the morning went. Morgan finally stopped trying to expel his insides around 3 or 4 am and we all got a little sleep. By 11 it was clear that everyone seemed fine and we suspected food poisoning. Since all my family was gathering in Alabama, everyone was pushing us to still come. Which is pretty amazing, considering the last time we all got together after Christmas we lovingly brought everyone the stomach flu! We headed out around lunchtime and kept our fingers crossed.

On our way to Kim's house we made a quick stop at Khan's to exchange gifts and to meet Theron's new baby girl, Alisa. It is always a good time when we get these crazies together. And I will always treasure the calendar Goats in Trees, thanks Khan!

About an hour away from Kim's house, at the end of a very, very long day, we came to a complete standstill. While we were sitting there a ton of rescue vehicles went by. Everyone started to get out to see what was up. Turns out we had missed a major accident by just a few minutes, extra grateful for Pepper's weak bladder and last minute pit stop!

" We felt better, we left town, and 12 hours later, we made it. Crazy day but excited for time with family. (Fingers crossed!)"

We spent some of our morning cheering Ben on in his hockey tournament.

Pepper and I spent a lot of time fighting over who got to snuggle this little cutie.

Baby Anne may be getting just a bit too much love from her cousins.

"Spending time with cousins and Gramma and Papa has been so much fun that I haven't had time to post. This morning we watched the circus animals leave the train depot and March into town. The elephants were a big hit with our whole crew."

We pretty much took over an entire section of Chick-fil-A. Love our big, crazy crew.

Yep, Nathan kneed himself in the eye doing a flip into the foam pit!

Boys v Girls dodgeball tournament.

By far my favorite thing to do here. Pretty proud of myself!

Not sure baby Anne quite got the spirit of the whole gift-exchange.
"Cousin gift exchange left everyone smiling!"

Pretty snazzy results!
Gramma Goodier had some special gifts for all the big girls. Truly and baby Anne will just have to wait a bit longer to join in on all the big girl fun.

"Gramma G surprised all the older girls with new purses and accessories. Little girl heaven."

Jill, Kim, and I opening some special gifts from Mom. So fun having time with my sisters!

"Too much fun for all ages!"
"Mom's gift to us girls. More accurate for some than others."
