On Friday, January 31st, we had Morgan's birthday party at the Stonehedge Bowling Alley. We were lucky enough to find a Groupon coupon that made it a very inexpensive party for us. Score!
Morgan picked out this zebra stripe cake mix at the store. I was a little skeptical at first that I could do it but it worked out really well and was actually really easy to do. |
I should have divided it into two pans but it all worked out in the end, thanks to frosting! |
I am not an expert cake decorator by any stretch but luckily I have been given some good tools by my mom so that I can at least pretend I know what I'm doing. Morgan wanted blue and green frosting and this is what I came up with at the last minute. |
Getting the games started. We had six little kids and one extra little brother. |
For having only bowled a couple times, I was really impressed with how well Morgan did. He is a strong guy and tried really hard. |
Vincenzo giving it a go. |
Cheering on the little brother. |
Morgan and Sarah keeping score. |
Gabriel giving it a go. |
Sarah's good form. |
Morgan's classmate, Evan. |
Cake time. |
Party people! |
Everyone singing to Morgan:
My big, handsome boy! |
Trying to keep everyone from tearing into the presents was a struggle but I love the enthusiasm. |
We love Sarah! |
Evan, his little brother, Connor and photo-bomb by Vincenzo. |
Ammon and Gabriel Griesmyer gave Morgan the new lightsaber he wanted and an invite to join them to go to dinner and the Lego Movie. Poor Evan is having a meltdown in the background. |
A horrible shot of the inside of the zebra stripe cake. |
After bowling, pizza, and cake, we headed over to the arcade for some more fun. |
After the fun party, we headed home. Morgan got to invite one friend for a sleepover and he picked Sarah. She is the easiest child so that was fun for everyone and we had a great time Saturday morning building Morgan's new Lego, hero factory kits and playing Star Wars.
