Easter Morning

This year Easter Sunday was also General Conference. It was nice not having to get up and get ready for church along with enjoying the baskets. The kids even slept in a little...very little.

Cousin Sophia's company, Lil' Wahine (means little girl in Hawaiian) lip glosses were part of the older girl baskets. Unfortunately, the coconut oil hardened with the cold temps. Hopefully, we will get to use them when it warms up.
"The great thing about small Easter baskets is only a few things will fit. Here's to keeping it simple and buying things on clearance from last year! Thanks, Gramma for helping make their baskets special once again. (I wonder how long Truly will be ok with Morgan's hand-me-down Lightening McQueen basket? The other tow didn't last very long.)"

Happy girls with bunny headbands. And no ability to sit still or make a normal face!

Didn't take long for Morgan to get through his basket.

Hazel approved of Daddy's breakfast skills.
Time to dye eggs during Truly's morning nap.

Everyone got a puzzle in their baskets. We had a great time putting them together while watching conference.
The girls and I couldn't let Daddy take a nap in his chair without a little extra love. Morgan decided to take some pictures of our family chair.

"Daddy tried to take an Easter morning nap. We took care of that!"

Smucker's Easter Bunny Breakfast

Cody got Good Friday off and so did the kids, so we headed out to Chick-fil-A for a special breakfast together. Then we spent the rest of the day running errands and getting things done. It was a great day to be together.

"Truly really enjoyed her first time playing with the big kids."
"I spy a certain boy trying to pretend he's not too big for this play place!"

"Only a true friend would break into my house to hide special eggs for my kids in our super, messy playroom and our soaking wet backyard! She also left me a 'Happy Easter' Diet Coke, teehee. You're the best, Bekah!"
On Saturday morning, April 4th, the Smucker's Store held a waffle breakfast with the Easter Bunny. It was a lot like the breakfast with Santa, but this was the first time they have held this. If they keep doing it, I think this will become another family tradition for us.
It was a miracle that Truly happily sat with the Bunny and even smiled in some of these. I think it helped that the other kids were so happy and calm as well. Thank goodness!

Morgan's expression cracks me up here.
They had a craft table set up so the kids could make their own bunny ears.

They always  have such beautiful displays. Just wish I could buy some of them and have the space to display them at home!

"Spent our morning having a waffle breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Smucker's Store and Cafe. Everyone (well, almost everyone...Morgan-the-teenager-wannabe is apparently to-cool-for-school now) was very happy to see the big bunny. Never know how Truly will react to things so her giggles and smiles was a fun surprise."
"The girls always insist on giving hugs to and getting a picture with the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Photobomb by Morgan. Sigh, brothers!"
"This was the first year we've done this but I have a feeling it could turn into an annual thing. The girls loved the craft project and lots of snuggles with the Bunny."
"Once again, the kids' favorite part was all the fun toppings they got to put on their waffles. Pepper was not completely sold on the actual waffle but that's nothing new!"
We are now all ready for Easter!
