Family Picture Weekend

This Saturday we decided to make use of the wonderful scenery here in NYC and take some family pictures in Central Park. We love the north end of the Park near where we live and went there with our friend Ashley and her fancy, cool camera to capture the moment. Morgan was a little ice cube by the end but he did a great job at least whenever we didn't stand to close to a tree...then he lost all focus. They turned out fantastic and we're using them for our Christmas card so you will all just have to wait. Here's a pic of Morgan and I before we left the house as a little sneak peak!

Saturday evening my good friends Ashley, Minde and I went out on the town for a "mommy night out". We somehow managed to get one of our Young Women to watch all three little boys because the husbands were at the Priesthood session of our Stake Conference. We strolled around the Upper West Side and ate at a nice little restaurant called City Grill and bought Pumpkin scones from Alice's Tea Cup. I enjoyed being out and about with the ladies and had fun window shopping with them. I am an East Side girl in my heart but I must admit the West Side was very lovely as well!

This weekend as I said was also Stake Conference and it was a big one since our beloved Stake President Belnap and his counselors were being released. So on Sunday we decided the special occasion warranted a tie from Morgan. He did great as usual and never once tried to pull it off or really mess with it at all. What a little trouper we have!

To and from Stake Conference we decided to walk through the park to get to the West Side and Lincoln Center and then the East Side and our subway line. This gave us a chance to enjoy the Park in the fall and for Morgan to take his first and second naps. This is why he's not in any of the pictures. The leaves are just starting to really turn and fall and it was a beautiful day to take long walks.

I think Cody looks like a CIA agent protecting the First baby in this one!

When we first moved to the City we took a picture very similar to this one...same scarf and background. We took this ourselves and I was pretty amazed at how well it turned out. Sunday afternoon our good friends Sunny and Marc blessed their new little girl Harper. Unfortunately we didn't get any pics but she was beautiful and sweet and lots of our good friends were there. Babies are just a wonderful reason to celebrate life and families! So that was our weekend. Hope yours was as fun as ours and you can enjoy the beauties of fall wherever you may live!

I LOVE seeing your hair down, so so pretty!!

and the yellow in those trees are gorgeous, you make me want to move there.

Whenever I read your blogs I think you're all sophisticated, and I'm just...beach bum, lol!

Whatever we're far from sophisticated but we'll take the compliment anyway! When I look at your blog I always think how fun to have a house and a pool and live like a real person! Grass is always greener I guess.

Your baby is ADORABLE! It makes me want to buy him clothes. :) And it's so good to see that you guys make incredibly good use of the great city your surrounded by. That makes me not so jealous that you live there. I would probably spend all my time in a gym, the subway and at some boring job, which would be a total waste.

First off, that picture of you and Cody is really great. Second, when will we see business casual Morgan...that kid is ALWAYS wearing a tie!

Third, City Grill and pumpkin scones are actually two of my favorite parts of living on the west side. Good choice for a night out.

Hi Beth, this is Carolyn... Cathy Snavely's sister. I read your comment on her blog and I totally understand why you would be excited about the Uppercase Living. It is such a cool product. If you have questions, you can email me at carolynwaite(at)gmail(dot)com.

And your little Morgan is such a doll! I love his shirt and tie. It seems to be so cool to live in NY!
