I know the week is not over yet but I couldn't help getting a jump start on recapping the craziness that has been our life since we got home from Utah. I don't have pictures of most of it and hopefully tomorrow and Saturday will be pretty chill so here it goes...
Saturday afternoon I attended a lovely baby shower for our friends
Nikki and Cameron thrown by another mother-to-be Celeste and decorated beautifully by the talented
Marci. It was nice to sit and chat with all the ladies and see all the cute
green baby products and giving lots of mom advice on giving birth. I love hearing everyones different stories. It still amazes me all the various ways these little bundle of joys can enter the world and how there is no real way to plan since anything and everything can happen.
Saturday night our ward had a talent show titled "Harlem's Got Talent" and boy do they! We had the best time watching the amazing singers, musicians and adorable dancing children. Cody and the bishopric did a great little skit that left Cody with lots of shaving cream in his ear. They were a big hit. Here is a horrible, yet funny picture of a talented ward member Rebecca, singing a song from a musical I cannot recall at the moment...it was good though. I love our ward!
On Monday Cody celebrated his 29th birthday by getting to play with Morgan for an extra hour and opening a couple cards and present from Morgan and me. We got him some movies and some treats from Blockbuster. Morgan enjoyed helping Daddy open all his goodies.

Also on Monday, Morgan was enjoying playing with Daddy's cordless drill until the mean old drill decided to slip out of his hands and land on his big toe. This was Morgan's first official I-need-a-band-aid-owie so we thought we'd document how fascinated Morgan was by his big toe accessory. He wouldn't leave it alone and kept showing Cody his foot. Luckily he left the band-aid on there and the bleeding stopped fairly quickly.
I just can't get enough of these adorable toes. I am officially obsessed with baby feet!
On Tuesday we discovered a new park with our great play-date pals Minde & Chase, Kiasa & Bella and Ashley & Eliot on 100th and 5th Ave. The kids had a blast running around and exploring the new playground that was just perfect for them. Later that night on 5th Ave was the annual
Museum Mile Festival. 23 blocks of 5th Ave were taped off and all of the museums were free. We once again joined our friends and headed down to the
Guggenheim to check out the exhibits. Cody met us there and afterwards we headed home after a quick dinner of a fruit cup and street vendor hot dog. It was a great evening of enjoying our wonderful city and the not-too-hot yet summer weather.
Wednesday afternoon Morgan and I met up with some other church ladies for a birthday celebration for all the May b-day ladies at a nice little restaurant Crepes on Columbus. Morgan and I enjoyed a yummy nutella, banana and strawberry crepe and hanging out with our friends. Today the ladies from church got together for a chocolate chip cookie bake-off at a playground in Central Park. We all brought different chocolate chip cookies we'd made and shared them with everyone while we let the kids run amuck. I was a little sick of cookies by the end but it was so fun getting together with everyone and enjoying the great weather. Morgan just loves playing at the park with his friends.
Tonight I have book club for In Defense of Food,
which I haven't read but fully intend to after tonight. Friday I have big plans for lots of laundry and Saturday I'm taking Cody out on a belated b-day date of dinner and movie. So there you have it, our non-stop fun-filled crazy New York City life. I'm tired just thinking about but love how quickly your week goes by when you stay busy. Thanks for indulging my lack of pictures and I promise to do better next time!

I love baby toes too! Jane's only bandaids have been to cover shots and once she discovers them, they quickly come off. Have a great weekend.
Happy Belated Birthday, Cody! I am sure that Beth is/was spoiling you! We wish we could've been there to celebrate with you...and see little Morgan's chubby little owie toe! Baby toes are pretty much the sweetest things!
Isn't it wonderful? Everyday when I kiss Levi goodbye I feel sort of guilty. My day will be spent at chocolate chip cookie parties, brunches, bookclubs...we live in a vibrant community, no?
