Since Cody, Morgan and I were still in NYC for the 4th of July our family and friends in Florida decided to wait and help us celebrate on the 5th with a big BBQ, pool party and fireworks at my parent's home that Saturday afternoon.
Jane obviously thrilled about this patriotic holiday and the impending fireworks display by her Daddy.
Cody and I were trying to take some pictures of the festivities when we accidentally put our digital camera on the wrong shutter speed setting and ended up with this picture of me dancing about the end of the driveway.
Well, we all decided this was too much fun and tried to see how creative we could be with our sparklers. Here's Cody signing his name.
My good friend Jessica's husband Rocky framing his face. He's an artist so this is kind of like a self-portrait.
My bro-in-law Kevin giving his friend Kevin a halo (the bit of sparkler that is shooting down actually burnt Kevin a bit so it was cool to see it captured on film.)
Jessica's beautiful daughter Maddy looking like a little fairy.
It took Kevin and I quite a few tries but in the end we finally managed a perfect star.
Maddy gave us a perfect circle. This is my new favorite camera setting and I can't wait to see what else I can do with it!
Cody all tuckered out from the festivities and traveling. Good thing he has a nice carpet to recuperate on; I love being home!
Well, that was our Independence day celebration. We hope everyone had a safe and festive holiday themselves. We are so grateful for the country we live in and the liberties we enjoy.
God Bless America!

Cool sparklers! That is awesome. I love how accidents sometimes turn out to be the best thing! Looks like a fun holiday.
Thank you we thinks she's pretty adorable too. Your little guy is such a cutie! Pete says hello :)
Picassoesque. Have you seen the one he did of a bull with a light pen? Very nice.
