Uncle Mike and Mother's Day

Last weekend we were very pleased to have a visit from Uncle Mike.
We were all very excited to see him and are glad he made the long trip up here from Alabama.
Friday night Cody had tickets to see the Cleveland Indians. Unfortunately, a big storm came in and rained out the game just minutes before Mike got there. We hung around for awhile to see if maybe, just maybe the rain would stop but when the bleachers began flooding we gave up and went home.
Saturday morning, we got up early and drove to Kirtland so see the visitors center and the temple. We were trying to beat the rain but near the end of our tour the skies opened once again but luckily we managed to see most everything.

Mike with the Kirtland Temple.
We didn't go inside because the kids were nearing the end but we did a quick trip around the grounds before heading home. Morgan LOVED having Uncle Mike around.

Hanging out on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
No naps made for some crazy kids but luckily Mike is used to craziness since he has 5 kids at home.

Pepper seemed quite taken with Uncle Mike as well.

Morgan likes to save space when sitting next to people he especially likes.
Saying good-bye Sunday morning.
Thanks again for coming Mike and come again soon!
See you in Florida.
Now on to my favorite day, Mother's Day!
This is how I was woken up Sunday morning. So happy!

I am so grateful to be a mother and to have two beautiful little souls on loan from Heavenly Father to look after. Everyday may not be perfect but I wouldn't trade a moment of my time with them. Morgan and Pepper are my favorites!
We found another geese family on our Sunday afternoon walk.
Perfect.
Pepper's still not sure about this whole grass thing but she's getting braver.

Even though it was a little wet and cold, we were all so happy to be outside in the sunshine.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
Also, a special shout out to my sister Kim (her husband is Mike,) who had a birthday yesterday.
I am always amazed at my sister's boundless energy and ability to get things done. Kim takes care of five children, keeps her house spotless and still has time to be a referee. I give Kim a hard time for not being able to sit still but I know I should strive to be more like her. I love you, Kim. Thank you for being a great example to me and an awesome big sister!

That's cool that you got to go to Kirtland. Bummer about the game. I'm sure Mike had a good time though. I love the Mother's Day pictures. I don't think I took any pictures, but I had a wonderful day!
