After the dinosaur museum, we met up with some of Cody's family, from his mom's side, and went to lunch. Then it was back to Grandma Jean's so Hazel could take a nap and we could visit for a bit. While the ladies were inside Cody took Morgan and Pepper outside to catch grasshoppers. This is one of Cody's memories from visiting his grandmother so when we found these bug catchers at Walgreens for a dollar he knew it was meant to be.

Fearless bug catchers. |
I love that her bug catcher looks like a purse. |
Getting a closer look. |
Whining over the grasshoppers, as if there weren't enough for everyone. |
It was a catch and release program. |
The view across the street from his grandmother's farm. Not a bad way to start or end your day. |
Later, while Hazel napped and hung out with Grandma Jean, the rest of us went to the Quarry to see some dinosaur bones. |
Cody's Aunt Connie, Uncle John and cousin Kristy met up with us. Kristy's daughter, Madison, was a big hit with Morgan and Pepper. |
Riding the tram up to the Quarry. |
The sky just seems to go on forever! |
Instant best buddies. |
This wall is part of the Morrison Formation. Scientists found this jackpot of dinosaur bones on the side of a mountain. There was an ancient river that washed all these bones to a mud pit that eventually dried up. This was only a small portion of it. |
Those are all real dinosaur bone fossils that have never been removed from the rock. |
Just amazing to look at. |
At the bottom they have a spot where you are allowed to touch the dinosaur bones. Of course, the kids wanted to climb them too but that got shot down. The park ranger said one parent sent there kid half way up the wall for a picture before they could stop them. |
Morgan and Pepper were not cooperating for this picture. Uncle John said they better hold still or they were costing themselves another brother or sister. So true, Uncle John! |
Three generations. Kristy, Aunt Connie and Madison. |
Morgan really loved it, I swear! |
Hazel was awake and having a grand time exploring all there is to find at Grandma Jean's house. |
Later Uncle Mike and Aunt Renee came for a visit. They are just the sweetest people and we loved hanging out with them. Poor Uncle Mike had been harvesting hay all day and fixing a flat tractor tire but he was still a trooper and helped the kids hunt for more grasshoppers. |
Never easy trying to get the group shot. |
Except for Morgan's closed eyes this was one was pretty darn close. |
I couldn't get either one to look at me! |
Our hotel room had two rooms so we all slept really well. Pepper and I got the main room, while the boys and Hazel shared the bedroom. |
Man, it does not take us long to destroy a room! |
Each morning the hotel gave us vouchers for a free breakfast buffet at the restaurant next door. Wednesday morning, Grandma Jean joined us. |
We just love this lady! |
Our visits never seem quite long enough in Vernal but they are always some of the highlights of our trip. Thanks, Grandma Jean and everyone for taking the time to catch up with us. We had a great time and miss you all.
