Easter Sunday Fun with Friends

Pepper was so excited about Easter that she first came into our room at 5:20 and kept coming in every 20 minutes or so. I finally got her to stay in her room by threatening to take away her basket. It worked until Morgan got up and then all bets were off.
Here's a video of Morgan and Pepper coming downstairs:

Pretending his chocolate carrot is an umbrella.

Hazel slept in but was happy to join in the fun later.

She grabbed the bunny and kind of glanced at the rest of the basket. This girl knows what she wants.
A quick photo shoot before sacrament meeting.
I wanted to do this outside but it was raining a bit so the old stand by foyer couch worked just fine.

I love these guys!

Take a wild guess who picked out the girls matching outfits and shoes?!
I asked Pepper if she wanted them to match and she did. I was secretly, or not so secretly, overjoyed!

Pepper wanted to take a picture. Love Morgan's face here.

Morgan wanted a turn.
We invited the Maceys and Wrights over to help us celebrate the holiday. It was so nice to have friends over and to just relax and enjoy some fun, good food (thanks to Cody,) and conversation.
Hazel put this Captain America mask on and wore it for quite awhile.
She cracks me up.

Kami dying eggs.
She's excited!

Pepper must have dyed a whole dozen eggs by herself. This girl was focused.

Hugo was not so sure about this whole thing.

Time to decorate some bunny/spring sugar cookies.

Hugo was happy about this activity.

Hazel approved as well.

Have some cookie with your sprinkles!
Easter egg hunt time. It had sprinkled on and off during the day so the ground was a bit wet but it was fairly nice after dinner so we headed outside. Cody and Porter hid all the eggs around the front yard.
Perfect example of the difference between a first and third child. Elsie is focused and ready to hunt with two parents ready to help. Hazel is wandering off not interested at all in the egg hunt and with no parent in sight.
Here are some videos of the kids egg hunting. Cody had the babies go first and then we let the big kids go. In the first video, watch Hazel in the background. She finally picks up an egg, drops it then finds the jellybean that fell out in the dirt and eats it. Classic:

In every picture Hazel is wandering around somewhere in the background.

So proud of herself.

Elsie hunted like a champ!

Hugo's power stance just cracked me up.

Yep, there's Hazel.

Just about every kid took turns tromping all over my poor daffodils.
Here's hoping they keep growing!

This was my attempt to get a picture of the girls' matching birdie shirts.
Hazel's hair is just killing me!

It was a long fun day!
This morning I made everyone egg salad and dropped it off at their houses, along with the things they left behind yesterday. Before I cracked the eggs, I thought I should capture our creativity.

Happy Easter everyone! We are so grateful for the atonement of our Saviour and for a chance to remember His sacrifice for us. And we are so grateful for our friends who help us feel at home and loved here in Ohio.

Love the pictures. The dresses were very cute. We had matching bare feet this year! You inspire me with all your friends coming over. I truly need to do better.
