One Saturday morning, while Cody was busy with something at home with a napping, Truly, I took the older kids over to the Highland Square library to make gingerbread houses. I am not a fan of making them at home because of the mess so I figured this was a win-win for us.

Our friends the Smiths were there, too. Hazel loved having Ellie there with her. I loved having a helper! |
Morgan and a friend from school decided to buddy-up, so Pepper and I started working together. |
It was fun listening to these two plan out their building and execute it together. |
Hazel's face just kills me! |
Surprise, surprise, Hazel's house is covered in pretzel sticks! |
These guys were so proud of their creation. Two seconds after this picture they demolished it and ate everything. |
I think this is the best gingerbread house I have ever been associated with. It was fun working with Pepper and listening to her creative ideas and explanations for what was going on with our house. |
Addison's creation. |
Lafe's masterpiece. |
My friend, KT, is the children's librarian at Highland Square. She was interviewing the kids about their houses and why made the choices they made. So fun to hear their answers. |
Can you tell I was proud of our house?! |
For the final touch, Pepper wanted to sprinkle powder sugar over it so it looked like it had been snowed on. So cute! |
Just cause a closer-look of this face is worth it! |
After they finished the houses, the library had a face painter, some cookies set out and a Santa delivered candy canes to everyone. Then it was off to ballet for Pepper. Busy, busy days! |
