Happy Valentine's Day!

Our Valentine's day was a lovely, busy yet not too crazy sort of holiday. Making sure the kids had all their valentines ready for school friends and making things festive at home kept me pretty busy. I decided to host playgroup on Thursday the 14th, even though Hazel was the only one home (and napping) so that I could have friends to hang out with.
My first brownie/cake balls from a kit that Smucker's sells. A bit involved but fun.

The crew making valentines and decorating cookies.

Julia's creation was pretty epic.

Pepper showing off her haul from the parties at school.

Morgan had a pretty good day also.

Cody surprised me by coming home early with dinner.

Happy day for all of us!

Cody decorated a cookie for Hazel. She enjoyed that very much.

To top off our love fest day, we went for a brisk walk after dinner.
Hazel's first time joining the "walking" portion of the walk.

She was a bit of a drunken sailor and after a few too many falls on cold cement, Hazel broke down and was carried the rest of the way home.

Pepper's first reaction to the treats she help make.

Hazel approves.

I love when I ask Morgan to pose for the camera.

On the Sunday after Valentine's day, we still had a few more cookies left so we decorated a few more.
I love how sweet Pepper looks in this picture.

Morgan was pretty proud of his creation.

Happy people.

I've been playing with a collage app on my phone. I quite enjoy it.
I enjoy Valentine's day but have never gone too crazy with it. It would have been nice for Cody and I to go out on a date but it wasn't in the budget or schedule. It was nice to have the kids feel love from their friends and to share love with our family. Maybe when they're older we can come up with a few more fun family traditions.
