Saturday Sledding at Sand Run

After the winter we've had and the tons and tons of snow, Cody finally took the kids sledding on Saturday, February 15th with some friends. We have a great sledding hill just around the corner from our house. They met up with Sarah and her parents to make it more fun. Getting little kids ready to play in the snow is the most exhausting chore. As soon as Morgan was all dressed up, he announced he had to pee. Hazel screamed through the whole process. Even though the sun was out a big, it was still really, really cold, around 25. Hazel was happy as long as she was on the sled but once she pulled her gloves off and put her hands in the snow Hazel was done!

Sarah's dad, Duane, with their dog and a neighbor's dog (whose name was Cody, ha), and Pepper warming up by the fire.

The beginning of the end. No matter how much you bundle up kids, their hands are always vulnerable!!!
Cody's such a trooper. I just wasn't feeling up to going with them that morning. I'm glad Cody had friends to help him out.

Love this one!!!

Turns out it is a pretty big hill.

The Smiths ended up joining them and Morgan and Ellie had a collision at the bottom. Morgan took it in stride but Ellie was pretty upset. Our son is made of steel apparently!
