On Saturday, July 12th our family, along with Aaron Valdez, headed to upstate New York to meet up with the rest of my family at a vacation home my parents had rented for a week. We were very excited to spend the week with all our cousins, aunts and uncles and Gramma and Papa G.
Saturday we just hung around the house and the kids played outside on its huge lawn. Sunday morning we went to church and then waited for Kim and family to arrive.
On Monday morning, we headed over to one of the local state parks to go swimming and go for a hike.

I love how Hazel is just marching along in this photo.
Uncle Billy and his grand-daughter, Bristol, also joined us for the day. |

Sunday afternoon, we set up a little spa for some much needed girl time. |

Ben thought we were doing face painting and requested some art.
I thought it was cute that all the kids found a way to be involved. |

Truly enjoying some one-on-one time with Daddy. |
While we were on this trip we started to discover some aspects of Truly's personality and found it very tiring! She has a very short fuse, pretty much didn't like anyone but me, she is not a cuddler and if swaddled, prefers sleeping alone in her carseat, which led us to believe she had an acid reflux issue. Truly also hated being in the car and can loudly scream an impressive amount. Around this time, she started to fight me a lot with nursing. She did prove an easy traveler though during our daily outings, as long as I had her wrapped to me. Ahhh, traveling with an infant...always an adventure!
