Hazel's First Day of Preschool

Hazel has been excited all summer to start preschool. In order to be able to Hazel had to be potty-trained. My biggest bribe, besides candy, was the reminder that if she wanted to go to school she had to stay clean and go on the potty. It worked like a charm and on Monday, September 8th, Hazel was ready to go to her school orientation.
Hazel found her chair and was very excited to finally be the one going to school.
Hazel really is excited to be going to school, I swear.
I love how this picture perfectly captures her shy little personality.
The big kids showing Hazel how it's done.

I was so worried Hazel would not want me to leave or would cry and hold on to me. Hazel usually sticks pretty close to me whenever we are in public. However, Hazel had no problem leaving me and running off to play with the other kids. I think it helped that she has been going there for other functions since she was born and knows everyone.
In the end, I had a harder time walking away from my little Hazely. It seems too soon that I already have just one child at home with me 3 mornings a week.
At the end of her first day, Hazel camp skipping to the van with the biggest grin on her face. Her teacher, Miss Linda said she did fantastic and wasn't shy at all. I love it when my kids surprise me!
