On Sunday, February 22nd after church, our whole gang, including Gramma and Papa G. headed over to Sandusky, Ohio to spend 2 days at Great Wolf Lodge. Gramma saw all our pictures from our visit last year and decided they wanted to treat us to another trip there this year. Gramma loves water slides and was very excited to try them all out. We all had a great time getting out of the freezing cold for awhile and spending some fun time together as a family. Truly wasn't so sure of all the falling water and loud noises but did enjoy splashing about and the warm hot tub. It seems crazy that just a year ago when we came, Truly was still inside me!

It took awhile but Truly finally decided she liked Papa G. |

Pepper going on the big slides all by herself. |
These two were a riot. Neither of them can stand still or look normal for a picture! |
I love that this place is so family oriented and has a big storytime every night for the kids. So fun. |
Gramma was keeping an eye on the older three and Papa was back in his room listening to the monitor of a sleeping Truly in the next room, so Cody and I were just hanging out during storytime. Not a bad way to finish off a fun day. I never want to go on vacation without extra family again! |
This is Cody feigning agony for a night with ALL our kids in one room with us! |
Morgan's present from Gramma and Papa G., besides the trip, was to get the three older kids the Magic Quest games and wands. The kids had a fun time running around trying to find everything. I think Gramma had a pretty fun time helping as well! |
I was a little (maybe more than a little) stressed about how it would go with all of our family members sleeping in one room. But with the help of a lot of loud fans and very tired children, we ALL slept soundly through the night and even slept till a normal time in the morning. I was so happy with how things went that I may be encouraged to try this again in the future!

Hazel cracks me up in this picture. You wouldn't know from her pose that she just enjoyed a good night's sleep.
This shot shows how we organized our room with the pack-n-play tucked behind the couch (that I pulled away from the wall) where Truly slept and Morgan was very comfy on the couch. Cody and I had the bed all to ourselves. |
Pepper and Hazel were the lucky ones that got to sleep in the Wolf Den. This little space worked perfectly for keeping everyone cozy and separated just enough! LOVED this room! |
We looked over at breakfast to discover Hazel undoing and organizing all the silverwear. |
After breakfast, I put Truly back down for a nap, after emptying our room of everything first. Then Papa and I worked on packing up, while everyone else headed straight for the water. |
This red slide is where Hazel spent most of her day. She would slide down, swim across the pool, get out and run around to the slide again, over and over and over and over. She was very easy to watch! |
I love that my parents are in their 60s but had the best time going down all the slides. |
Truly was NOT a fan of these waterfalls! |
This series is me trying to get a distracted baby to look at a camera. Not easy! |
Papa was a good sport and went down the big slide with Morgan. He did not feel the need to do that one again. I didn't either! |
Gramma, on the other hand, really enjoyed ALL the slides, especially the big ones. |
Humidity equals crazy, curly hair! |
As it was nearing time to head home, Hazel and Truly were the first to be done with the whole pool thing. So we headed to the lobby for a nice treat while we waited for everyone else. |
While the rest of us did our best to stay still Hazel did not seem to have the same desire. Even Truly did a better job staying still. |
"Get ready for over-gramming of water park cuteness!" |
"These sisters are turning into such great buddies. So fun to watch." |
"I am so grateful for my amazing parents! We were lucky to have them all to ourselves for 12 glorious days. It was hard to say goodbye this morning. Thanks for everything, you two, we love you!" |
"Just cause this one is too darn cute!" |
Lots of family fun was had by all. Thanks, Gramma and Papa G. for all the great memories!
