Morgan's Baptism!

On Saturday February 21st, we all participated in Morgan's decision to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Cody had the privilege of exercising his priesthood powers and performing both ordinances. It was such a special day filled with family and friends. William and Kegan said the opening and closing prayers. Uncle Khan gave the talk on baptism and Papa G. gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. Gramma G. conducted the music and Aunt Joanna, Pepper and I sang. The whole morning had such a special spirit to it and we all felt so blessed and proud of Morgan. It's hard to believe that so much time has already passed that our baby boy was ready to baptized. I feel like at this pace I will blink and it will be time for him to get the priesthood and then go on a mission!

My two favorite men!

"The whole gang cheering him on."

Gramma G. talking to Larry and Sarah Chuba.

Miss Diane, Morgan's piano teacher, Cousin Kegan, and Adam Smith enjoying a light lunch.

Truly's face cracks me up! Also, Micheal Redd in the background was nice enough to be our pianist for the baptism.
Khan, being Khan, couldn't stop himself from taking pictures of people taking pictures. So here are all his pictures of our little photo shoot.

We had a table with pictures of Morgan at different ages, including Morgan's baby book. Everyone enjoyed looking through his baby pictures and kept commenting how much he and Truly looked alike. It's uncanny!
Bekah Griesmyer was so nice to make this banner for us. The only piece of decoration that Morgan asked for.

Morgan spending some time chatting with Ms. Susan and Ms. Bobbie. They were so excited to be there and said they were going to invite themselves to all our other baptisms! They were also the last to leave because we were all chatting so much. Seriously, the best preschool teachers and human beings ever!!!
My only shot of Morgan opening up his presents and cards. All of our non-member friends that we invited asked what kind of gift would be appropriate for a baptism. The question caught me off guard and I told them a card would be great. Most of them included money in the card and one friend, Sarah Chuba and family, gave him a journal. Everyone was so thoughtful and we were so grateful that they all came and supported our family. Morgan thought he was king of the world with all that money!
During the time between the actual baptism and waiting for Cody and Morgan to change, Joanna, Pepper and I sang, "Baptism," and we passed out cards for people to write thoughts, testimonies or well-wishes to Morgan. When we got home, we sat down and read them all together. There were so many amazing thoughts and really thoughtful experiences shared. Such a wonderful blessing-filled day.
"So proud of Morgan and his decision to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And so grateful for Cody and the amazing father and righteous example he is to our children!"
"Grateful that Gramma and Papa Goodier could be a part of the celebration."
"Truly's thoughts on Morgan's big day."
"Such a wonderful morning and so blessed to have so many amazing friends and family help us celebrate!"
