Hazel's Rapunzel Birthday Party

On Saturday, the 24th, Hazel her first ever friend birthday party. We usually just combine her birthday celebration with trick-or-treating and invite some families over to join us. This year I decided Hazel was old enough to have her own celebration separate from Halloween. We let her choose the theme and together as a family we came up with ideas for activities and decorations. It is a crazy time of year but we were all excited to help Hazel feel extra special on her 4th birthday.

Ellie Tober is in Hazel's preschool class for the second year in a row.

Truly getting down to business with the cupcake frosting.

Time to open presents. This was the first time Hazel has gotten so many presents for her birthday. She was very excited that they were all for her!

Now for the pics from my phone:
My contribution to the goodie-bags was making these Rapunzel braids for the girls to take home and use to hold their hair bows.
Such a good daddy to stay up late carefully coloring a large picture of Rapunzel for a birthday party game.

"To top off the day of fun, Cody and I went on a double date with Bekah and Gary (and of course I forgot to take a picture, boo!) Then we headed home to finish Rapunzel party prep for Hazel's 4th bday party. Whew, I'm exhausted and ready for bed!"
An overview of the obstacle course. The girls started in the bouncy house with 5 bounces, then ride down the roller-coaster, go through the tunnel, jump 5 times on the trampoline, and finish by knocking over some foam pins with a soft bowling ball. After all the girls finished, it just turned into play time. I love our basement during the cold months!
It's hard to get a good non-blurry shot of bouncing princesses.

Hazel got to pick the menu. No surprise that she picked pizza, chips, and popcorn! I decided to make a fruit smoothie to attempt to make the meal a little more healthy. Cody thought to put them in these cute little cups and cut the straws down. The girls loved them!

Hazel's captive audience.

Some last minute playtime while waiting for parents.

"I think it's safe to say Hazel LOVED her birthday party and having all her little friends over. My goodness I love this smile!"
"So many princesses so little time! We had the girls play 'pin-the-braid on Rapunzel,' musical princesses, and Pepper and Morgan set up an obstacle course in the basement (I always view Rapunzel as the action hero princess.) They finished up the fun with pizza, cupcakes and presents. Big smiles all around."
