Pumpkin Carving FHE

Pumpkin carving is one of those things that seems like a fun, easy family activity, but in actuality is a huge, messy, challenging process that you just have to get through to keep these fun holiday traditions alive for your kids. I know when the kids are older and can do all of this themselves we will probably miss all the chaos but for now, Cody and I just have to psych ourselves up for it every year. We finally bit the bullet and on Monday, the 26th, we carved our pumpkins for FHE. Besides Truly running amok and pulling everything out of every kitchen cabinet, we had a lot of fun. Cody and I decided to back off and simplify this year and the kids had a great time designing and carving their own pumpkins.
"Pepper was the only one who didn't fuss about getting her hands in the goo and even helped clean out the others' pumpkins, but everyone liked the carving part."

"Carved our pumpkins and had homemade cookies for family night. Cody and I were proud of ourselves for letting the kids design and carve their own pumpkins and not micro-managing everything. So thankful for family traditions."
"This one was a big help in the carving process as you can probably imagine. She picked up on seed, made a disgusted face, and wouldn't go near the pumpkins again. Just destroyed the rest of the kitchen while we worked."
