Woodland Preschool Carnival and Bake Sale

On Saturday, March 23rd, Pepper's preschool held their annual carnival and silent auction. I volunteered to be in charge of the bake sale. It had already been a crazy week with the Women at the Well program, baking and making sure we had everything we needed for the big day. I was super tired but it all went really well and I enjoyed being able to help the preschool. We were steadily busy from beginning to end and I feel like it all went really well. I am, however, glad it is over...and so is my kitchen...and Cody who cleaned it all up!
Missy, my co-captain, and our beautiful display.

The pricey table.
The $4 banana bread was by far our fastest seller.

I made these to have some little items for the kids.
I added pez to the top and they were a pretty big hit.

Cody and the kids came a little later to enjoy the festivities. It was a pirate theme for all of the games and decor. I was able to sneak away to have a little lunch with them but basically they had all the fun without me.
Winning candy is serious work.

This little lady screamed for me every time Cody passed the bake sale table so ended up walking around with her binky to make it easier on Daddy.

Everyone waiting for Ms. Susan to paint their faces. Not Sarah's best picture.

She really was having a fantastic time I swear.

Catching a little air in the bouncy house.
I promised Cody I would take it easy with the silent auction this year. I lucked out and there were tons of great baskets so I was able to snag an arts and crafts basket for Morgan and princess basket for Pepper.

I love this pic and these two faces!

Some serious gaming happening at home as well.

Already hard at work on a princess poster picture from her basket.

My pies and challah.

I took this shot with my iPhone and I loved the way it turned out.
A calm little girl amidst the chaos of the carnival.
I am so glad this big event is over but a little sad that the school year and all the fun activities they put on is drawing to a close.

Women at the Well

A few weeks ago I was asked by a sister in our ward to help with the Relief Society birthday dinner celebration. She was going to put on a musical program entitled "Women at the Well." It tells different stories from the scriptures of women who's lives were touched by Jesus in some miraculous way. She asked me to sing one of the songs and to help with staging. I agreed and then immediately forgot about it. Then it came time to meet for a couple rehearsals before the performance on Thursday the 21st. I was sure there was no way I was going to memorize the song in time or forget everything when I got on stage. Luckily, that did not happen and it was actually a pretty great night. I had so much fun being a part of a production again and helping the other ladies stage their own songs and help arrange the set. It also felt amazing to sing on stage and I was so glad that I pushed myself to step outside my comfort zone.
We each had to put together our own costume. Fortunately for me I had all of this in my closet and it was close enough.
My song was "Close Enough to Touch," which is the second song. I was very happy to be near the beginning so that I could enjoy all the other ladies' beautiful songs. It was such an amazing night and I feel very blessed to have been a part of it.

Here's my song (my friend took the video with my phone and didn't know to make sure it was in focus before she started recording but at least the sound is clear):

McKaylee sang "Go In Peace," my new favorite song.

Here are some of the other performances, I wish I had thought to record them all.

Family Time and St. Patrick's Day

Our weather has been typical Northeast Ohio spring time. One day it is beautiful and the next it is snowing. So we try to take advantage of the nicer days when we can and get outside.
Having a family walk one Sunday afternoon.

And Morgan taking a ride.
Saturday the 23rd, we headed to Five Guys burgers after a very long day of fun. Everyone was pretty happy to be together and eating yummy food.

These are pics of the care package that a friend from Moms Club dropped off for the kids and I when we were sick. So thoughtful.

Showing off her  new jewelry.

We used the paint set for a FHE activity.

One night when Cody was at a high council meeting the kids and I entertained ourselves with a little game night. Hazel walked around with the headband on for a long time. She was so cute and proud of herself with the card in it too.

This is how I spent my St. Patrick's Day afternoon. The kids decided my long dress and cardigan made great blankets and this is how we watched our movie. Super comfortable let me tell you.

Serious artist.
Sunday March 10th, was a gorgeous day for us. Temps close to 60 and the sun was shining. After Hazel woke up from her nap, we quickly threw together a picnic dinner and headed to the park. We had a nice meal, thanks to Cody and then took a nice walk. The kids were a bit sad we wouldn't let them on the playground with all the other kids but it was great to be outside together. I am ready for spring and summer!

I love asking for poses!

One Friday I made some pizza for dinner. I was proud of my impromptu creation of spinach, tomatoes and pork tenderloin.
We like to call people and sing for them on their birthdays. We tried to call Andie but no one was answering so we put together a little video message for her. I figured since we had everyone in the shot I'd go ahead and take some pictures. Poor Hazel was not at her best and still looking quite orange thanks to my iPhone.

Here's our singing skills:

The results of wrestling with Morgan in a messy playroom.

Hazel sporting her St. Patrick's Day orange in honor of Gramma Goodier and eating some ice cream.

She was a happy baby.
Here's some videos of the kids dancing around. I swear they love the music during the end credits more than the movies half the time! If you have time to watch I promise Morgan and Pepper's crazy dance moves will not disappoint.
