Here's all the other random stuff we were up to in January:
A Harry Potter themed playdate with Sarah. She brought her new wand and owls for everyone. They had a blast.
"These two are the next heroes of Hogwarts...according to them!"
This dance party was a riot! We had the cardboard on the floor for the kids to draw on and Morgan and Sarah were using it do dance on like breakdancers. All the while Hazel and Pepper are doing their own crazy dances. So fun to watch!
This one is pure joy to photograph! And her bed-head is amazing!
Cody found these Bumble ring pops for the kids' Christmas stockings.
I love how sweet and innocent she looks in this picture. I just want to scoop her up and give her tons of kisses.
"Someone was pretty proud of herself for graduating nursery and starting primary today. It's been a big week for this big girl!"
Found these old pictures on my phone from texts and saved them.
Typical morning looks.
"She's just part of the crew now! This would be cuter if it wasn't a snow day...ugh!"
We spent one of our snow days playing at the Smith's house. They were hamster-sitting and the kids had a blast chasing them around. Poor hamsters!
Right now all three girls take a bath together while Morgan takes a shower. It's getting a bit tight but they all have such a great time together...for the most part. They are just so darn cute that I had to capture it.
"Despite one trying to constantly hit her in the head, and one trying to over-mother her, Truly LOVES bath time with her sisters. Cody won't agree but I'll be sad for the day when all three won't fit in together!"
"Thanks to some hand-me-down clothes from a friend, Hazel got to join her preschool in celebrating OSU's big win. Of course she has no idea what it means, but was happy to wear Pepper's shirt."
This was amusing but oh, so loud!
We have a singing Anna, guitar playing Pocahontas (wearing Batman's cape, of course,) and some serious pillow drum action happening.
"I have a headache but Truly seems to love this band."
Watching a pretty fun version of the Ugly Duckling at the kids' school.
"Children's theatre group performed at the kids' school today. We all enjoyed the show!"
"Hazel requested a spider sandwich for dinner. Best I could come up with but it worked like a charm. Yay for a successful dinner with a picky eater!"
Rudolf the Red-nose Reindeer ring pop.
"Day off school equals a lunch date with Daddy. Their reward for cleaning all morning!"
"Soooo.....a DEER ran into my van today!!!!! Luckily, I was able to hit the brakes and swerve at the last second and it just bounced off me. It never stopped running and still cut in front of me, while another deer ran behind. Miraculously, the previously busy road was completely empty except for me at that moment, so we were all totally fine. Craziest experience!!! (The deer managed to clean part of my van, also. Thoughtful deer.)"
"Pepper's spoils from a friend's birthday party. Helps when you have a 'balloon man' in the ward."
Sometimes I make myself some really yummy lunches!
Sometimes when I go to turn off his light at night, I see a glimpse of my baby boy in those super-soft red cheeks!
"Letting the 'Anne-girl,' and a quiet treat soothe me tonight."
Here are some videos that are quite amusing. I had watched a video about asking boys and adults to do things, such as kicking, running, punching, like "a girl." And then the director asked young girls to do the same. The difference was amazing and touching! The boys and older people all acted goofy or uncoordinated but the little girls kicked, punched and ran full out and with their whole hearts. To them doing something like "a girl," meant doing an awesome job. One time Morgan was crying about something or doing something silly and Cody told him to "stop acting like a girl." I immediately jumped all over him and announced that that comment would never be uttered from his mouth or in our house again. I know Cody did not mean it to be a put down to his daughters but I HATE that expression and everything it represents. I want our girls to know that they can do anything they set their minds to and that their daddy knows that being a girl is NEVER a negative thing! So, I asked Pepper and then Morgan those questions and videoed them doing it. Pepper's response made me tear up with happiness, Morgan's left me a bit perplexed. After they went, I had them watch the original video with me. Morgan's response after watching the video, "Ooohhhh! I thought you said GORILLA!" I laughed so hard I cried! We all laughed and laughed and laughed and I felt like it was a great moment with the kids. Good times!
We are a happy little family who live in the Akron, OH area. Cody works for the fabulous Smucker's Company. Our favorite little man Morgan is five and loving life. Our little lady Pepper is almost three and a bundle of girly joy! We welcomed, Hazel to our family and couldn't be more in love with her.
