Random November

Here are all the random things we were up to during the month of November:
Love watching them snuggle.
"Election Day bake sale tomorrow at Woodland Preschool! Stop by and pick up some yummy treats while helping to support a great school."
"Truly's first 'mommy and me' gymnastics class was an experience. This girl has a mind of her own! Maybe one day she'll follow directions and wait her turn."
Voting selfie.
"Civic duty completed with the help of my mini-me."
Cody makes the best Sunday lunches!
Hazel's ballet class cuties.
"Bekah and Gabe joined the older kids and me at the theatre tonight. We saw a high school production of Alice in Wonderland. Fun night with friends."

"Game night for Family Home Evening."
"This dapper gentleman joined Hazel's preschool for a special Veteran's Day breakfast. Gary has served our country for many years, doing a tour in Iraq and traveling all over as a criminal investigator. We are very proud to call him our friend and honor him and all those who have served our beautiful country! Thanks, Gary! (I promise next time to take more pictures, oops)"

"Happy Veteran's Day, Dad! You are my hero. I love making you laugh until you cry and watching you play at the beach with all 13 (almost 14) of your grand-kids. Love you!"
"Breakfast date with this blue-eyed hellion. She has spent most of the week trying to destroy the house while I clean, so I decided to keep her out all morning running about at different play areas. I think she was happy about the change of scenery."
Pizza and movie night.
Hazel got these nails for her birthday. We finally put them on. She was so proud of her nails...for the five minutes she kept them on!

"By total coincidence this is the shirt Pepper picked to wear today. It didn't even occur to me the significance until later. But it provided a good opportunity to talk to the kids about recent events and to offer prayers for Parisians as a family. (On total side note, when did my little girl get this old looking?!!!!)"
Hazel dressed up like Pocahontas for Indian Pow-Wow day at preschool.

"Hazel showing off her preschool pow-wow goodies. This girl never disappoints with facial expressions!"

"The tooth fairy came during the night for this big girl. She approved of the fairy's choice."

More pow-wow pics.

"Lunch and Christmas shopping date with my big girl. She's such a fun person to hang out with and is always my biggest helper. I feel so lucky to be her momma!"

"Morgan read a scripture and said the opening prayer in senior primary today. He picked and studied his scripture all by himself for the past week. I was a very proud momma and a little sad he doesn't need my help anymore."

"Truly was very excited to say hello to the fishies at her 18 month check up today. She was not as equally excited to see the doctor and did her best spider monkey impression holding onto me. Then she didn't even flinch or cry when they gave her a shot. Crazy little bundle of energy!"

"Hazel enjoying her 'Charlie Brown' Thanksgiving Feast. Such a cutie-pie! Maybe if we did this at home our kids would actually enjoy the meal?!"
"My newest niece, Anne Kendall Terry was born very early this morning. They chose her middle name in honor of my Uncle Larry, so it is fitting that seh seems to have red hair. My sister, Jill is doing great and Anne's three big sisters and one big brother were all very excited to meet her today. We can't wait to love on her after Christmas!!!!! Congrats Terry family; she's just perfect!!!!!"
Now, on to December.

Thanksgiving Weekend Fun

We kept very busy with lots more fun over the Thanksgiving weekend. First up was seeing the tree lighting ceremony and nativity displays in Kirtland. We've been meaning to do this for years and finally decided to go last minute. It was rainy and cold but we still had a great time.

"Historic Kirtland Nativity Exhibit had a fantastic children's area set up for the kids to play in. This was much appreciated since most of the displays were very much 'hands-off!' Truly loved baby Jesus a little too much and then eventually evicted Him and took over the manger. Sigh."

My favorite. There were scriptures written down the sides of each piece.

"Visited Historic Kirtland's Nativity Exhibit and tree lighting tonight. They have hundreds of nativities from all over the world. (This one was made from olive wood and looks just like our creche from Israel.) The rain and Truly were both not ideal, but overall a great experience. Loved starting the Christmas season with the kids centering on Christ's birth."
Trying to get to Lock 3 to go to the Pop-up Children's Museum but ran into a parade first.
Here's all the Children's Museum fun.

Saw the big guy on the way out.

Got around to lighting our own trees and decorating, too. We are ready for Christmas!!!

"Spent our morning at the Pop-up Akron Children's Museum at Lock 3. The kids had a blast! Can't wait for the real thing."

"Hard at work tonight getting the kids' tree just right...despite Truly's best efforts to undo all their creative efforts. Feeling very festive now!"
"I love that when I get home from dropping kids off at school I find this left by my almost 9 yr old son. I'm starting to realize I'm not ready for them to grow up!"
