Random July

Here's all the random things we were up to in July...after our major summer vacation.
A shot of Truly's room in the closet during our stay in Virgin. Best closet/room ever! I think all of our kids have slept in this closet at some point in their lives.

"Fanciest gas station bathroom EVER in Beaver, Utah! Super clean, too!" And it was connected to the dinkiest little gas station convenient store. Crazy! Stopped here on the way up to Mesha's house from St. George.
Happy to be home. Happy to be home!

Love summer evening walks around the neighborhood.
Crazy hair and tired mom.
"It took no time at all for the kids to happily destroy the house daddy had cleaned and ready for us, while I collapsed in the bean bag chair!"
"We gratefully stretched our legs after a very nice home cooked meal by Cody. So happy to be home!"
"My MIL is an amazing lady! This is the third time she has helped me cross the country with my children quickly and safely. Each time we have had at least one baby and one 3yr old in the car (and I'm pretty sure the 3yr olds were the hardest.) I don't know if I will ever be able to con her into doing this again, but I am surely grateful for her sacrifices! And I love all of our conversations and getting to know each other better. I love her immensely and we feel very fortunate to have her in our lives! (Oh, and yes, Cody had new nerf guns and crossbows waiting for the kids return. Because our house needed more weapons!)"
"FYI: if you put mousse in your wet hair and go to bed, you wake up with this. And one of the many things I love about coming back east is that it is 9:30 and 3 of my kids are still asleep!"
A picture Grandma Adams took when they went exploring to a stream during their weekend together. We are thinking of sending Morgan out to them for a week next summer. I think he will have a fantastic time!

"After all the big, fun pools they've been in this summer, I'm amazed at how much fun these girls can have in this tiny pool."

"While Morgan's at scout camp (and the baby is napping,) we big girls are getting our craft on."
Morning at the Nature Realm with Sara Redd and kids.

Checking out the fairy garden in the Herb Garden area.

"Spent some of our late morning with friends at the Nature Realm. It was fun to get out of the house with the girls but stay cool, too."
Fabulous library storytimes at the Main Library with Miss Anne Marie.

These two!
"I was overjoyed to discover Miss Anne Marie doing the story-time at the Main Library downtown today. She is fantastic and the girls just loved her! Morgan read books while the girls enjoyed stories, music, and craft/play time. Very lovely, easy, summer morning with friends."
"The story-time was all about feet. After some books and songs about feet, the instructor had the kids take off their shoes. The kids followed animal tracks and then they set up a bunch of sensory areas for the kids to walk on. There was also a water bucket with paper to leave footprints on, a footprint craft area, and a rice bucket. So glad I decided to go this morning!"
Dropped Morgan off with Bekah and picked up Emma to take the girls to a Momsclub playdate at Julie Albrecht's house. The girls had fun playing in the sprinklers and eating snacks.

"Instead of pizza and a movie, we did pizza at the park. Felt so good to get out and let the kids run wild with their friends. Thanks for a lovely evening, Bekah!"
"Bekah found some hungry missionaries walking toward home and we got them to join us for dinner. Oh, and poor Hazel got a tiny boo-boo and became completely incapacitated. Sigh."
Now, on to August and the end of summer.

Morgan's First Cub Scout Camp

On Tuesday, July 28th, Morgan's Cub Scout Camp had a family night. We were all invited to join the boys for dinner and a campfire. Morgan LOVED his first day camp experience and it was fun to see all the different activities that he's been doing. Love the scouting program.

Truly is always happiest when she can run free outside.
Heading to the camp fire area to watch the older scouts put on silly skits.

Hot, sweaty, and tired.  And I got to leave them all in the woods with Cody and head off to book club. Lucky me!
"Got to visit Morgan at Cub Scout camp yesterday for family night. We had dinner then watched the staff put on skits. Morgan is having a blast and loving all the camp activities. The girls were excited to see where he's been this week."
