Vernal Day 2: Fourth of July

Our second day in Vernal was spent celebrating the birth of our nation. We started our morning watching the 4th of July parade down main street. It was crazy hot but the kids got lots of candy and had a great time.

After the parade, we headed over to Cousin Mickey's farm to visit the animals and play. Still crazy hot and still fun.
Pepper's wanted to ride a horse for a very long time. This was as close as she got with our limited time.

Great-Grandma Jean and Hazel going off to explore. Love.

Found some farm kitties to pet.
Cousin Mickey showing Truly the kitty.

Truly trying to get to the chickens.

Trying out the super huge zip line.

The kids trying to track down the new calves.

On our way out of town we went back to the Pow-Wow. It was too hot to stay long since there was no more room in the shade but we got to see the grand entrance procession and all the beautiful costumes.

Hazel melting.
These are now all the pictures from my phone. The first were from the real camera.
Truly hijacked someone's wagon to get a better view.

Not a fan of loud noises.

These high-school girls were AMAZING!!!!! It was unreal what they could do on these unicycles. This was hands-down everyone's favorite part of the parade....besides the candy.
"Happy 4th of July everyone! We started our crazy day of fun with a boiling hot parade in Vernal, UT. Hazel did not enjoy the loud sirens and Truly helped herself to some strangers' wagon. The kids loved it, so it was almost worth baking in the heat and walking eight blocks...almost."

"Next stop was Cousin Mickey's farm to meet the animals and zip line. Still scorching hot but, again, the kids loved it."

The kids made instant best friends with their cousins (2nd cousins...I think.) Too bad we live so far away!

Too bad everyone was so hot, sweaty, and tired for this photo shoot with Great-Grandma Jean. Don't think I'll be framing these any time soon!

"Great-Grandma Jean ( one of Hazel's namesakes) had a mystical power over 3yr olds. Every time we have visited her we have had a 3yr old and every time they love her. This picture makes me very, very happy."
"Third stop on our blazing hot 4th of July fun fest was the Grand Entry at the Northern Ute Pow Wow. Beautiful costumes and experience. So, so hot...can you tell yet that I was melting?!"
