Main Library Summer Story-times

Every summer I make a habit out of going to the Main Library Storytimes on Thursday mornings. Morgan is now too big to want to join in but enjoys sitting in the Children's Library right outside and reading while the girls and I have lots of fun. Miss Anne Marie, our favorite librarian there, was in charge again this summer and we were very happy about this. Every week there was another amazing theme with lots of fun stories, games, songs, and activities for the girls to do. We were always joined by lots of friends, which made it all the more fun. I can't say it enough, we love libraries!!!

Truly trying out the beginning of a room-size nest the kids were building to sit in while they listened to the stories.

"Storytime today was all about birds. They had the kids listen to bird calls, then build their own room-size nest, and then they read and acted out a book about  birds building a nest on an elephant's head. So fun!"

"Some more shots from this morning. After the story, they had the kids go outside for a bird picture scavenger hunt with homemade binoculars. I'm so amazed week after week at the fun activities they have for the kids. Great way to end the summer Story time adventures." 

"Big B, little b, what begins with B? Storytime was all about boxes today. Little girls loved it and Bekah Griesmyer utilized my long arms to help build the tallest tower. Everyone had fun knocking it down."

"All about wiggly worms at library Story time this morning. The girls heard worm stories, danced their wormy wiggles out, painted with yarn worms, made play-doh worms, crawled through a worm hole, and got to touch real worms. Morning well spent."

"Today's Main Library Story time was brought to you by the letter 'i' for inventors. This was our final Story time downtown before preschool begins and it was a great way to end the season. Here Ms. V is showing Hazel the 'super-power enhancing invention.' It lit up, moved, and played music. Hazel was not sold."
