Let me begin this post by just declaring how much I LOVE my mom! To me she is the energizer bunny and always willing to try any crazy thing I can cook up no matter how unconventional. During college I convinced her to come on a last minute road trip with me and my roommate to Atlanta, Georgia so we could see the Barenaked Ladies in concert. Growing up she was always the first one in the water, or on the ski slope and the last one to go to bed at night. I have inherited my love for conversation and appreciation for beautiful music of all types from this lovely little mama.
When I was getting ready to have Morgan, I jumped at the idea of having my mother in the delivery room with me...unfortunately Morgan was on the express delivery train and she was about 7 hours too late. However, she was there bright and early the next morning and for the next 5 weeks helping me learn to nurse and keeping Cody and I from completely panicking.
I love that she wanted to come visit us again for a month and we will be sad to see her go. I was not the easiest teenager/early twenties person to deal with and I remember hearing on multiple occasions "I hope you get a daughter just like you one day so you'll know how I feel!", but even when we were arguing I always knew I could talk to her about anything and never feel embarrassed or stupid. I am in awe of her free spirit and world-record testimony of obedience.
Mom you amaze me!
Mom and I after an interesting meal at Macy's. Foot long chili-cheese dogs were probably not the smartest idea for the two of us but Morgan loved the fries!
Mom and I with the Naked Cowboy...no worries his hand is not actually groping my mother but hovering in front of her.
However, his hands are actually on our behinds. I guess he earned his $2...it was pretty cold.

Don't worry! Mark sent those naked cowboy pics to his parents straight away!
We keep daydreaming about how much FUN it would be to come and visit you guys! If only we had a bunch of $ lying around!!!
And I am a big fan of your mama too or anyone Goodier for that matter! :)
Those naked cowboy pictures are awesome. Dan and I were just discussing how we haven't seen him in a while--glad to see him on your blog!
What a cool mom?! I love the naked cowboy, I hope he makes enough to be worth getting frostbite?!
Just reading about footlong chili dogs makes me wanna gag! There used to be a time when that would be heaven to me...good thing the weather wasn't warmer, because if I remember correctly, your mom's line in the "It's gettin' hot in herre" song was: "I am getting so hot, I wanna..." ;-) Oh, the fun times you are having! I hope that your thesis is coming along, too!
that naked cowboy was a HOOT!! I could just hear your mom laughing in the butt picture!!
oh by the way, I forget when your mom is coming home, but I guess Sis. Fudge wanted me to pass on a message to her. I guess she volunteered to be in a R.S. play before she left. does she remember? just a heads up!
you guys are having sooo much fun!
Reading about your mom ... I miss Sis. Goodier. Glad you two have such a good relationship. Fun times.
P.S. Did Sis. Fudge live in Hawaii?
Trent & I laughed so hard when we saw those naked cowboy pictures!! I don't think Trent would let me be in a picture like that!! I'd probably make him be in the pix! :)
What an adventure and what a mom! The better part of the bum picture isn't your mom's (almost) laughing face, it's you LIVING it up . . . in front of the named camera-man. Nice, Beth!!
Wow! That puts your mom in a whole new light! Not what I remember her like when she was YW President in NJ!
Sorry, I have nothing better to do tonight, and I hopped here from your sister's blog. I have got to get some hobbies that I can do once the kids go to bed!
