Memorial Day plus more fun in Virgin

On Memorial Day we all visited Cody's paternal ancestors' grave sites in St. George. Cody's father placed a flag on the grave of his father Lloyd Adams.
Then we had Morgan meet his namesake and great-great-great-grandfather Morgan Adams. Without even being prompted Morgan walked right over and placed his hand on the gravestone. It was quite touching, like he knew somehow he was connected to this great man. What a sweet little man I have!
After the cemetery, we joined some more Adams posterity at a park and had a little reunion. We didn't really know many people but it was nice to chat with a few and let Morgan run around in the park. Then we met up with our dear friends Mark, Cathy and Taj and had them over for some pool and hamburgers fun at Cody's parents' home. It was so nice getting the boys together to play...all of the boys.

I love watching my friends get married and start families of their own. Thank goodness for how small the world can really be when you make the effort to stay close! For more great pics of our time together check out Mark and Cathy's blog.
The day before we left to come home we all decided to take one more walk in Zions National Park and have a little picnic while we were there. Grandma and Papa needed some photo ops with their favorite little New Yorker. The view is amazing but I'm not quite sure about Cody's goatee...or my ensemble for that matter! But Morgan seems to feel inspired to pray by the beauty of God's creations.Cody had the urge to wander down to the river to feel the water and check out the rocks...although it looks like it in this picture he did not have any other urges while he was down there, just contemplation. If you look closely you can see Cody between the first 2 railings. This was the beautiful view we were all enjoying crossing the bridge. One thing Grandmas are great for is sneaking treats you otherwise would never get at home. Morgan took full advantage of Grandma's generosity and mooched her soda and any other goodies whenever possible. Grandmas were made to spoil grandchildren so I felt no need to intervene. We all miss Grandma!

For more pictures of our adventures visit our Picasa Album. We are glad to be home and back with our NYC friends but man o' man we miss everyone in Utah and the wide open spaces. We can't wait to get back there for Christmas and hope all of our Utah/Vegas friends will come visit us whenever they can!
